Establishing An Asian Presence

Establishing a presence in Asia is no longer a choice for most businesses. In the past, many manufacturing companies decided to offshore or outsource their labor expenses to low-cost labor countries in Central America and Asia. This caused these companies to either charge less for their products or to keep a higher profit margin. These were benefits for Western manufacturing firms, but the cost benefit alone was not enough for many companies to make the jump. As oil, and thus transportation, costs increased, companies started to return some of their manufacturing operations to their countries of origin.
However, now in the decade of the 2010’s, there is another reason for going to Asia. The exploding population and wealth of people in Asian countries equates to huge opportunities for companies in the West. If you are not one of them yet, now is the time.

Immense Demand for Western Expertise

While there is plenty of available labor in Asia, with a population contributing around 60% of the entire world populace, there is enormous demand for expertise in high-technological and high-experience jobs and industries. Engineers who can design structures that last for a century instead of a decade are in high demand. People and companies in Asia have more available capital to spend on improving their operations, and they want high-quality designs. The governments of the countries of Asia and wealthy investors from Asian countries are all hiring Western firms to design bridges, buildings, ports, agricultural centres, grain storage facilities, and other such structures. If your company has been laying off trained professionals, you can reverse this trend by securing contracts in Asia. This is one of the ways that savvy firms are exporting their expertise. Of course, doing business in Asia is much different than conducting the same business back home, but there are firms with expertise in both markets who are available to bridge the gap.
With the size and scope of many of these projects spanning several years, the return on investment for those who realize the potential is quite large. Rogers Enterprises International has been helping companies get the job done in Asia for over 40 years. By connecting expertise from North America and Europe with demand in Asia, a benefit is to be reaped by all parties involved.

Manufacturing Excellence in Asia

Some of the business models that never seem to fail involve the establishing of a high-end manufacturing operation in Asia, making products designed for export. Establishing a presence in Asia for manufacturing brings several benefits for the company, such as the following:
1) Lower labor costs, often reduced by as much as 80%.
2) Lower taxation, especially for companies who make local contributions.
3) A desirable product, one that is positioned for both the Western and Asian markets.
One of the areas of sizable growth in the manufacturing field is in natural resources. Minerals and agricultural products are of high quality and high accessibility, making these two areas of investment key for Rogers Enterprises International to pursue.

REI Helps Companies Construct Facilities for Grain Processing and Storage

As highlighted in a previous piece on the topic, Rogers Enterprises International focuses on grain processing and storage facilities in East Asia, Southeast Asia, and Inner Asia, making it one of the most important investments in the region. The demand for grain will increase dramatically as the population in Asia, which is where the majority of the world’s population resides, increases substantially. Rogers Enterprises International is poised to become the principal investor in grain processing and grain storage in Asia, and this makes for a solid and profitable investment for companies in the United States, Canada, the UK, Europe, and elsewhere.

REI’s Impact on Grain Processing Investment

Rogers Enterprises International focuses on the coordination with construction companies, engineering firms, governments, and private clients to put up world-class grain processing and storage facilities in the Philippines, Viet Nam, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and India. The expertise in each of the areas creates a synergy that is very effective in getting perfect results in each and every project.

The Mechanics of Grain Processing and Storage

The use of grain as a food source dates back thousands and thousands of years, but the importance of grain has not changed in modern times. One of the most commonly processed grains is wheat. Wheat is milled into its constituent parts, and is either sold like this, recombined into another substance, or ground into flour which is used in baking.

The bucket elevator is an integral part of any grain storage facility. In modern construction, a rubber belt is powered by an engine. Attached to this are several buckets, typically made of high-grade plastic. These buckets move down to the bottom of the storage facility and scoop up the grain. It is then taken to the top of the chamber where it meets a device called a diverter. The diverter mechanically separates the grain into different classes, and the grain is moved to grain silos or to a feed mill, where further processing may be conducted.

As is evidenced in many situations in Asia, this is not the last step in the processing and storage of grain. Most countries have existing grain silos or other such storage facilities, but they have issues keeping the grain fresh. Spoiled inventory is the number one problem regarding grain storage in Asia. Rogers Enterprises International understands the need for technologically proven grain storage facilities for this region of the world. In order to meet the rising demand for grain and other agricultural products, Rogers Enterprises International and its partners must address the issue by constructing high-quality grain processing and storage facilities here.

Our engineers plan state of-the-art grain rotation systems which guarantee the food will stay fresh for as long as possible. The slip-form structures which house the grain are engineered to a specific set of conditions which abide by international standards. This part of our investment strategy parallels our mission for all of our business units in Asia.
